Henry - not sure what's going on with your secondaries this year. I read elsewhere on the diaries that a solution is to cut the main growing tip which apparently sends a signal to plant to start sending out secondaries. I suggest this if the 1349 goes that way. Good luck!!
Also did you ever plant those interesting shaped seeds you harvested from your pumpkin last year??
