When measuring the pumpkin, should I measure along the equator of it or in the other direction? Along the equator, I measured 39" at 13 days after pollination. Is that a reasonable size for that timeframe? Is there a link to the weight estimation tables?

Oh ya, another thing, my plant grew leaves every 6" instead of every 12", is that normal? If the leaves are at 6" intervals, would that mean that I could get really good fruit sizes with a plant half the size of one with leaves every 12" since the leaf/root density would be doubled?

Yes, stem to blossom and back around like the equator. I asked the same question a month ago, but once the pupmkin gets big it would be impossible to measure vertical circumference.
For your 6 and 12 inch question, I'd say no. That just sounds like smaller leaves and if not, much reduced air circulation which is a factory for powdery mildew (given you have normal leaves.
Below is a great way to estimate weight with 3 simple measurements (OTT). Circumference is not as accurate especially with enlongated, flat pumpkins like mine. Also, go to grower diaries and start one and check other peoples progress.
