What is the proper way to bury leaf nodes. I have just been putting soil on them, but the soil washes away when I water by soil drenching. I have been watering in a 3' radius from the stump and along vines.

A simple pat down should be all that is needed. Unless you're watering too aggressively or the soil is unusually light.

The hose wand I use flows about 5 gpm. Too much? The soil even washes away some with a watering can.

Just replace the dirt that washes away.

i have been putting about two hand fulls of dirt around mine with some myco. It does wast away a little but just add some more if you think you need it.
