Somewhere i saw this question asked, but i cant find it.
Why does the tip on the main bend down? Just the very last 4 inches. It gets very heavy with the new growth.
Is this normal or is something wrong?

The tip of my marrow main has done this from day 1. No problems 20+ feet later.

new growth at the tip of all vines is heavier than the small vine at the tip. hence a bit of bending downward.

my stunted vine tips pointed up with male clusters......the still growing vine tips point down, including the mains.

Thanks everyone. My Main is pointing up to the sky, as is all the secondaries. I was just asking about the last three inches that sags down. I will try to post a picture.

over fertalizing not only causes pollination aborts but also causes the ends of vines to become ridged and pointed to the heavens.

Thanks for the replies. The main is growing about 10 inches per day. I have been using fish and kelp once a week as a fertilizer. Here is a picture of the tip: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=136103

It looks quite healthy to me. I think you are doing a pretty good job with it.
