That black foam is pipe insulation. Basically a thinner pool noodle. It's going to pad the bottom member of my greenhouse frame so the vines can crawl over them easily. I'm going to leave the greenhouse frames up to use as an attachment point for fans/camera/shade netting (also I'm lazy).
