My season is 2025, the season of mutations, cracking and rotting pumpkins. I've hit the jackpot of this season's anti-record. I don't think I have any competitors in this record for pumpkin losses. Lol:)
Of the eight pumpkins, three were cracked pumpkins, one was twisted and one was rotten. There is only one squash left, which should be green, but in fact it turned out to be white with a slight shade of green, but whole, without cracks. Which means that all the pumpkins are cracked, not because of overflowing or excessive fertilizers, but a mutation. The Paton 2020 pumpkins had a clear sign on two fruits that the pumpkins would crack over time. As the fruits of the pumpkins grew, the pistil grew crookedly and looked to the left, and over time, cracks appeared at the pistil and nearby. First the main pumpkin, then the duplicate fruit. And if at first I thought it was excessive rain, then the second fruit had exactly the same sign of a crooked nose, as if there was a tension in the fabric, a thin spot. And after the second cracking, I realized that it was the plant itself.

In another plant, without a pedigree, the fruits first developed normally, and then uneven growth and constrictions, which led to cracks.

There is still squash, which grows in my country house, it was originally with a strong mutation at the seedling stage, I will show it later and tell you about it, it has an interesting fate.

Therefore, the botanical garden is decorated with modest-sized giant pumpkins. But visitors are also delighted with these modest pumpkins, which is very inspiring for the coming season.
