At 17 days after fruit set, this Michael's Portuguese Monster weighs an estimated 1.46 lbs. and continues to grow at an impressive rate. It is 3.5 times as large as my personal best was at 17 days along in 2012. That Big Zac grew to 3.486 lbs., but it grew in September, October and into November when the weather was cooler.
It's too early to get overly excited, but this one's just about keeping up with the formula for growing an 8 pound tomato!
